ClipperCreek ships 5,000th charging station

Founded in 2006, ClipperCreek is the exclusive Level 2 charging equipment supplier for Tesla Motors and for BMW’s prototype Mini E. Additionally, the Auburn, CA-based company has strong ties with automakers Mitsubishi, Ford, Mercedes, GM and Nissan. After five years in business, on May 18th, ClipperCreek announced that it shipped its 5,000th plug-in vehicle charging station. For some perspective on its recent sales volume, ClipperCreek announced the shipment of its 4,000th charging station in late December.

David Packard, president of ClipperCreek, says that the company’s “customer base is varied and broad” and claims that orders come from “every segment of the market, including utilities, municipalities, residential and private fleets.

In June, ClipperCreek will begin upgrading the existing plug-in vehicle infrastructure in California under a program with the state’s energy commission. This program will, according to ClipperCreek, increase the number of public charging stations in California by at least 500.
