BMW releases video promoting i3 and i8 electric-drive vehicles
The video, titled “BMW i. Born Electric,” runs one-minute ten seconds and doesn’t include any voiceover or any facts about the cars’ performance or other details, but you can still see it after the jump. BMW said late last year that it would debut a production version of its battery-electric i3 four-door next year and would start making the plug-in hybrid-electric i8 two-door sports car in 2014. A version of the latter model was featured extensively in last year’s Tom Cruise-starring “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.”
Meanwhile, last month, BMW started U.S. deliveries of its ActiveE EV (see here for a first-drive review), which is the precursor to the i3. The company’s leasing out the ActiveE in markets such as Los Angeles, New York and Boston for $499 a month with a $2,250 downpayment.
