It’s not just upper-level execs that Bright Automotive is looking to bring on board. The Midwest company announced today it is hiring for 200 jobs in Southeast Michigan in 2011 to help make the Idea plug-in hybrid van a reality. What kind of people? Vehicle and manufacturing engineers who work “in the areas of design, body, interior, chassis, electrical, powertrain and vehicle development as well as key business functions such as supply chain management, information technology, sales, marketing and finance.” Sound like you? Go apply here.

Bright says the new employees will work out of the company’s new technical center in Rochester Hills, MI that will open later this year. The Idea van will be developed there and at Bright’s home base in Anderson, IN. To go along with the expanded workforce, Bright is planning a series of informational forums with automotive parts suppliers that want to work on the Idea. These will take place some time in early 2011. Looks like that $5 million investment from General Motors is going to good use.
