Fisker Automotive has reportedly snatched up an additional $150 million through it latest round of private fundraising, adding to the $300 million it has already raised, the $529 million awarded from the U.S. Department of Energy, and the $21.5 million in grants and loans it has received from the state of Delaware.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Henrik Fisker, chief executive officer of Fisker Automotive, stated that the funds will be used for the development of Project Nina, which includes a range of plug-in hybrid models with a projected base price of $47,000 and a launch date scheduled for late 2012. However, Fisker spokesman Roger Ormisher apparently told Auto Observer that a portion of the funds will be set aside to “ensure” (we’ll see) the launch of the automaker’s plug-in hybrid Karma.
