When Infiniti rolled out its M35h hybrid at the 2010 LA Auto Show, the automaker focused on two numbers: 360 horsepower and 30 miles per gallon. Combining stout performance numbers with decent fuel efficiency was Infiniti’s target in developing the M35h and, given that the hybrid sedan’s 3.5-liter V6 cranks out 360 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque and that its electric motor adds another 199 lb-ft of twist, Infiniti’s gas-electric is capable of keeping pace with the competition. With projected numbers of 25 mpg city and 30 mpg highway (27 combined), the M hybrid runs rather efficiently as well.

Infiniti proudly boasts that the M35h, provided that the EPA fuel economy certification matches up with the automaker’s projected estimates, will become the first production hybrid vehicle to hit the roads with over 350 hp that returns 30 mpg or more on the highway. Oh yeah, the M35h’s ability to hit 62 miles per hour on electric power alone is a notable achievement too.
