ALTe Creates One-Stop Shop For EV Fleet Customers
To help fleet customers understand the benefits of going electric ALTe has created an online tool called ElectrifyYourFleet.com under a Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) commitment. ElectrifyYourFleet.com launched earlier this summer to connect corporate and government fleet purchasers to those invested in EV tech. Customers now have a one-stop shop where they can gather information from utility companies, charging station providers, and finance companies to see how much they can save in electricity and government incentives by switching to an alternative powertrain.
“Our commitment to the CGI community is to help solve the greatest roadblocks to commercial adoption of electric and plug in hybrid vehicles: eliminating the lack of affordability and simplifying the EV and charging station order fulfillment process,” said ALTe Chief Executive John Thomas in the press release below. These roadblocks are also present in the passenger vehicle market, where consumers have displayed hesitation to purchase plug-in vehicles.
Over the long haul, initiatives like this may benefit both the commercial and passenger marketplace by educating more and more people as to the benefits (and savings) of EV and PHEV technology.
range-extended plug-in electric hybrid powertrain for light commercial fleet vehicle
applications, today announced that it has created a Commitment to Action as part of the
Clinton Global Initiative America (CGI America) meeting. ALTe has committed to spur
adoption of hybrid electric technology in the worldwide fleet industry and bolster clean
technology jobs in America.
Under a Clinton Global Initiative commitment and in conjunction with the 2012 CGI
America meeting, ALTe has pledged to develop a first-of-its-kind electric vehicle fleet
purchasing system by which fleet customers can consolidate the entire electric vehicle
decision-making process in one simple web-based interface.
The new website, www.ElectrifyYourFleet.com, which launched its beta version today, will
connect corporate and government vehicle purchasers with EV stakeholders – including
utilities, charging station providers and finance companies – and notify customers of all
available incentives, while offering the benefits of group-rate purchases and simplifying
the order-to-delivery process. As an electric powertrain systems provider, ALTe will offer
certified full-sized pickups and vans that have been retrofitted with electric or plug-in
hybrid powertrains.
“Our commitment to the CGI community is to help solve the greatest roadblocks to
commercial adoption of electric and plug in hybrid vehicles: eliminating the lack of
affordability and simplifying the EV and charging station order fulfillment process,” said
ALTe Chief Executive John Thomas. “With ElectrifyYourFleet.com, we intend to take a
crowdsourcing approach to generate a new industry buying platform that helps fleets
better transition to a cleaner operation, offer financial benefits to customers and grow new
jobs for the future of America.”
About ALTe:
ALTe is the developer of the first range-extended plug-in electric hybrid powertrain used
to repower light commercial vehicles. The system will be retrofit into existing fleet vehicles
as well as used in “glider” applications of new vehicles to dramatically increase their fuel
economy and lower emissions. Designed to replace a base V-8 internal combustion
engine powertrain, the system’s patented technology improves fuel economy from 80
percent to 200 percent. Based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the company is headquartered 2
in a 185,000-square-foot facility where it will assemble its powertrains that will be shipped
to installation locations across North America. For more information, visit

About CGI America
President Clinton established the Clinton Global Initiative America (CGI America) to
address economic recovery in the United States. CGI America brings together leaders in
business, government, and civil society to generate and implement commitments to
create jobs, stimulate economic growth, foster innovation, and support workforce
development in the United States. Since its first meeting in June 2011, CGI America
participants have made more than 100 commitments valued at $11.8 billion. When fully
funded and implemented, these commitments will improve the lives of three million
people, create or fill more than 150,000 jobs, and invest and loan $354 million to small
and medium enterprises in the United States. The 2012 CGI America meeting will take
place June 7-8 in Chicago. To learn more, visit cgiamerica.org.
About the Clinton Global Initiative
Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes
global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing
challenges. CGI Annual Meetings have brought together more than 150 heads of state,
20 Nobel Prize laureates, and hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations and
NGOs, major philanthropists, and members of the media. To date, CGI members have
made more than 2,100 commitments, which are already improving the lives of nearly 400
million people in more than 180 countries. When fully funded and implemented, these
commitments will be valued at $69.2 billion.
CGI’s Annual Meeting is held each September in New York City. CGI also convenes CGI
America, a meeting focused on collaborative solutions to economic recovery in the United
States, and CGI University (CGI U), which brings together undergraduate and graduate
students to address pressing challenges in their community or around the world. For more
